Don't we just Love OneRepublic? ♥
The song talks about a known issue, how people seem all perfect from the outside and we go along with them until we discover that they are the same people who bring us down. This can be implied by the dancing crowd; wearing masks on their faces to present the idea that true intentions are actually hidden.
I wanted something light to read, something that isn’t complicated or needs an over thinking. Something…. what word fits the topic properly... Witty? , yes .. Something witty, fun and enjoyable. I normally step away from covers that look so daman girly! but this book was fun to read. “How Embarrassing!” and “Please don’t let it come true!” are probably things that you are going to say while reading Kinsella amusing novel. Everyone has secrets, not that huge probably, but those little humiliating secrets that you always wish that no one knows about, except of course if it was a stranger, someone that you are never going to meet again... at least that’s what Emma Corrigan thought! A twenty-something years old girl who is determined to make something out of herself, but it’s not that easy. After an embarrassing meeting, she heads back to London, but when the plane faces some clear-air turbulence she starts to freak out... spilling all of her secrets to the man next to her on the plane. Later however, she comes face to face with him.. a man who knows every single thing about her life!.
It is fairly easy to imagine the comical expressions on the characters faces because Kinsella’s writing style is so smooth to the extend that you feel like you are watching a romantic comedy movie. The only thing that confused me about the novel is the fact that Emma found that not knowing what “NATO” stands for was embarrassing. Alright people, I never knew what NATO was until reading the novel and looking it up! “An international organization for peace and defense”. BIG DEAL! :P

Beach!!Nights are the best!
Wow how many were we? I honestly can't remember.. aunts and cousins and sisters!, And for some reason, we banned males from attending :P Having the resort all for ourselves and making as much damage as possible! We enjoyed our time by riding motorcycles, Jetski and flying Kites! It was a lot of fun running around and doing God knows what. Fresh air does that to you sometimes... and I guess many of us need to do that from time to time. Altough we didn't actually spend alot of days there, but being able to have this sort of break from this social traffical life was enough.....Today is the first day from Adha eid, and for those who don’t know what the deal is:

Aaah the laziness!
I got up in the morning and put on jeans, a neat shirt and then went downstairs to say “Happy Eid” to my mom. In this eid, we don’t dress up from the morning like Eid al-Fitr, but we leave all the dressing up for the night, at least our family does. My mom was in the kitchen doing everything from cutting, poling, grilling and the smell was just delicious. She at occasions like these does not trust anyone to do the work but her. So I was by her side, just watching, and as I was doing so she kept saying stuff like: “When you have your own home. You’ll be doing this soon!” Oh my dear MAMA! I could never do it as perfect as you do.. besides, it sounds like an exhausting job >_<
I went inside to wake up my brother who kept saying “I’ll wake up I’ll wake up” without actually doing so. At that time, my dad walked into the house, he was neatly dressed and you can tell that he had the Eid spirit. All of us went to him, kissed his head and with a smile he gave us the money! :P Afterwards we went to our grandmother’s house and had lunch with her, a tradition we kept for years.
Today also happens to be my big sis’s birthday, she’s 4 years older than me, engaged to be married and I just adore her!. I finally managed to get her a birthday gift yesterday. However she did get some earlier gifts, An apple Mac book from her fiancĂ©, – I guess he was depressed with the HP laptop she always brought with her– and a cool wallet from her close friend which looks exactly like mine but she never dared to say that to her.. it's a gift so who would? >_<
Me and my cousin surprised her with a chocolate cake at my aunt’s house. It was so much fun seeing the surprised expression on her face. I brought her a golden D&G necklace, and I was relieved to find her very happy with it. Afterwards we went out for dinner, just the family at the famous Lenotr. We had a table outside and the weather was just magnificent! To make things better, at the end of our meal, it started to rain simple drops to present us with a perfect atmosphere of freshness.
HapPpY Eid ALL :*
I just discovered this band recently and I must say they rock! The video was not made in a narrative form, supposedly because the director did not want to distract the attention from the song itself.
The use of fire is just awesome and in any case fire is always an artistic way to present powerful emotions.
4.5/5

Let me get something straight first, I am in no way a professional book reviewer. I like to say what pops into my head without hesitation, making it short and simple, some might like it and other won't, however in the end I think we can all agree that Hosseni's book was overall a good one.
I always wanted to read the Kite runner but I never got the chance. Not that I was busy with anything, but I always try to step away from novels that gain a lot of popularity in certain times, let it rest a bet and then come back to it so I can read it in my own terms & reflections.
Now we come to the novel itself. The first part of course went extremely well. It was enjoyable, fun.. heartbreaking and complex at the same time. Not complex in the sense of the story itself, but in the characters' sprits if you know what I'm saying. Hosseni managed to present us with a beautiful image of relationships; Amir's relationship with Hassan, his father and Rahim Khan as well. The description of Kabul in the seventies is magnificent to the extent that you can even "smell" the famous Lamb Kabob from the novel pages itself.. at least I did.
The second part of the book was kind hazy for me. Everything was in it's right order but in some sort of way I was expecting more. For those who read the book I wanna talk about the guilt issue. It was kinda cold, never changing. I was expecting more memories, more emotions and maybe .. maybe a broken plate or two. I do understand for a fact that this is the real world, that nothing should always happen in a dramatic way, but sometimes adding spices won't do any harm to the realistic vision of the novel.
I guess a lot of people have struggled with the ending, and I must admit I did as well.. at first. It left me wanting more, and that's why I purchased the movie. The motion picture was good and it can stand on its own, but I knew that for me to accept the ending I should read the novel again... and I did. I kept reviewing every single detail in a new light, and reconsidering the use of words again and again so the second time I closed the book, I was finally content. And if you must ask, no... I wasn't forcing myself to accept the ending. I just feel that with every author, there is a reason why he ended his book the way it appears, and that's what I was trying to figure out.
In Saudi Arabia we don't have a "Halloween day" actually, but we have fun celebrating it whenever we get the chance. It comes with the flow without narrowing it strictly to a specific date. Yesterday I had the chance celebrating it with few cool friends and we had a blast. We brought a Karaoke and we discovered our hidden 'talents' << Oh yeah that's what we call it *Ear still bleeding*.
Supposedly, I was a kitten, but I was wearing a weird tutu as well so I actually appeared to everyone in two ways: an unprofessional ballerina & a very dorky cat. Oh well. it was a last minute thing and I actually like things to be unmatchy. Besides, Costumes are not supposed to always mean something right?
Until next year Halloween ;)
